I was a Science Stream student who loved biology and chemistry pretty much.
I was a Chemical Engineering student (Year 2004 – 2008).
I was a Traditional Chinese Medicine (basis) student (year 2010).
I like medical science pretty much. Always curious.
I was an outside sales person for X-ray Machine.
I am an inside sales person for a public listed company.
I have a very aggressive and supportive family.
I have a very logical and supportive husband.
I was a Science Stream student who loved biology and chemistry pretty much.
I was a Chemical Engineering
student (year 2004 – 2008.)
I
hardly remember the details about human body function and chemistry reaction
that I learned during my primary school, secondary school and college, but I
can still remember that our organs are all link together. All the organs are
important in certain roles to make this human body continue to stay alive.
Surgery
would mean that I have to disturb one or more of my body organs. Does it really
a good one to go? By disturbing the body nature (organs), would it really bring
any goods to me?
Chemotheraphy
means use drugs (poisons, toxins) to kill cancer cells. From my understanding
during my chemistry class, our body ownself has plenty of chemical reactions
are going on every day and each chemical reaction is so important to make sure
our body is in “balance” mode for its best functionality. By injecting the
drugs into our body (in this case we are going to inject a pretty toxic drugs),
would it disturb my body natural chemical reactions? Would it really bring any
goods to me?
Hmm…
logically, both also seem like going to disturb my body’s natural working
somehow, which seem like is going to bring damage to my body functionality.
Doesn’t sound like a good solution for me to go for it.
I was a Traditional Chinese Medicine (basis) student.
I
learned that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has more than 1,000 years
history back there. And, our ancestors were “testing” those TCM methods on
human (not white rat or any other animal which are used by our Scientists). TCM
might not be “scientifically” proven or whatever they call it, but it is
“humanly” proven.
Should
I follow a “scientifically” proven one or “humanly” proven one? Sound like I
should go for “humanly” proven one as I am human.
I like medical science pretty much. Always curious.
When I was little, I always dreamed
that I can be a doctor one day.
I read a lot of articles and watched a
lot of youtube about common disease and cure available although I might not
remember it.
When I knew that I am a Hepatitis B
carrier (at age 23) and was informed that I might get liver cancer at age 30
(at age 25), I started to search info about liver cancer and possible cure. The
more info I get the more I feel that prevention is better than cure. Thus, I
also started to look into healthy lifestyle and healthy diet. I started to read
book about healthy food, healthy exercise, healthy detox massage, etc. Guess
this is why I did not panic when I was told that I have a liver cancer at age
of 31 as I some sort of already prepared myself (mostly mentally) for the day
to come.
I read article and watch video on and
off about cancer patient with their treatment. It left me with perception that
those cancer patients are always suffer with surgery and chemotherapy. “Pain!
Pain! Pain!” is the voice from the cancer patients. Feel terrifying. I always
told myself that if one day I am diagnosed with cancer, I will definitely not
go for surgery and chemotherapy!
I was an outside sales person for X-ray machine.
I learned a lot about X-ray when I was
with an X-ray machine trading company. I know that X-ray would bring a big harm
to living creature. It is carcinogen (can cause cancer to living tissue).
Before surgery, doctor would have to
let me go through radiation scans first to check on the tumor’s and my body’s
condition where I will be exposed to few hundreds to thousands of the X-ray. What
do you think that it would be? That mean I would make the cancer cell even
active. Hmm… sound like it is not good choice to go. I have had enough when I
went through the CATs scan where there were few hundreds of X-rays going
through my body which I imagined that it was already making the cancer cell
even more active.
I am an inside sales person for a public listed company.
A public listed company is always
mainly about P&L (Profit and Lost). When a patented product is so
profitable, there is no reason to stop it from production. I always wonder if
there is a cure for the cancer after so many years of research. It might be no
and yes. It could be a “no” due to cancer itself is a pretty complicated living
creature where it exists not only in a single form due to its mutation
capability. It could be a “yes” where actually medical scientists have already
found the cure where it might be the complicated living creature (natural foods
and herbs) that could cure this complicated creature (cancer). It might be due
to commercial benefit involvement that these medical scientists / companies
covered the cure (natural foods and herbs)? If it is the natural foods and
herbs that can cure the cancer, it could not be patented and thus a company
could not make a lot of profit from it. If so, a company would not declare it
as a “product” to “hurt” the other profitable product. It is not a 100% sure
but many real life cases show / showed that natural foods and herbs have actually
extend / extended cancer patients’ life more than 5 years, 10 years, 15 years
without a lot of suffers. Sound like is a “happy” lifestyle that I would like
to go for.
I have a very aggressive and supportive family.
After knowing about my liver cancer, my
immediate and in law families immediately help to check/ask around for any
possible “cure” for the cancer and the diet a cancer patient should take.
Case 1 - There is a liver cancer
patient who is a friend of my sister lived for more than 15 years after his
diagnosis. After the diagnosis, he chose not to take any medical action on it.
Instead, he drinks a lot of ginseng and pandan leaves plus sleeps before 11pm
every day; eat normally. As of August 2016 that I heard, half of his liver has spoilt
but he is still alive without any suffer.
Case 2 - There is a liver cancer
patient who is a friend of my sister’s colleague lived for more than 8 years
after her diagnosis. After the diagnosis, she chose to go for Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM) and never eat oily, spicy and sour foods. Up to August
2016 that I heard, she is still alive without any suffer.
Case 3 – There is a leg cancer patient
who is a friend of my mother still alive after 7 times of surgery until there
was once that the doctor asked him to cut his whole leg which he rejected to do
so. After the rejection, he chose to eat normally and continue his life and
until today he is still alive but I am not sure how long he has been alive
after the rejection. He told my mother that the life of surgery was pretty
suffered for him and the life after the surgery rejection was a happy one for
him. He urged my mom to advise me not to go for surgery if there is no pain/
suffer.
Case 4 – There is a cancer patient who
is the father of my friend still alive after 5 years of his diagnosis. After
the diagnosis, he chose not to take any medical action on it due to his old
age. He eats normally but healthy food. No fried foods, no oily foods, always
go for light foods.
Case 5 – There is a nose cancer patient
who is a relative to my husband still alive after 3 years of his diagnosis.
After the diagnosis, he underwent the chemotherapy and radiation. He suffered a
lot. He becomes so thin and weak after the therapy. Few months ago, he was informed
that there is no longer cancer in his nose. Sound like a successful therapy. After
3 months of the announcement, he was informed that the cancer spread to his
lung and liver and he has to go for another course of chemotherapy and
radiation again.
From the above, look like the natural
foods and herbs therapy is more convincing for me to go for. It may or may not
works for me but at least it looks pretty bright that it would not bring any
suffer to me.
I have a very logical and supportive husband.
My husband immediately stopped working
for about 2.5 weeks after my diagnosis. Every day, he could just sit in front
of his laptop to search for information about cancer and possible cure. He did
a lot of survey and summarized all the info to me. He regularly talked to me
trying to understand my thinking about the cancer and my wish of handling it.
He asked: “If go for surgery and chemo,
you can live for 20 years but pretty suffer, and if go for natural foods and
herbs, you can live for 10 years but with no suffer, which option that you
would prefer to go for?”
I answered: “I rather live for 10 years
than 20 years.”
If I have to live my long life with the
feeling like I am just too sick to do anything every day, I rather live my life
shorter with the feeling like I am always energetic to do anything every day.
I believe my husband is someone Guanyin
sent me to guard me. He kept telling me that this is not my own challenge but
is ours, two of us. After a long search, my husband found this centre called CA
CARE located at Penang. CA CARE was founded by Dr. Chris Teo and his wife Mrs.
Teo (Chng Beng Im) on 1995. They have 21 years of experience with cancer patients.
They are pretty passionate in helping cancer patients as long as the cancer
patients would help themselves too. They recorded down every cancer patient
case and shared those experiences through their CA CARE website which is pretty
much helpful for a cancer patient like me.
1 day before we went to CA CARE (I
remember it was 8 August 2016), my husband and I went to Hospital Selayang
Hepatology Department (department to monitor liver) for checkup. The doctor was
pretty nice that he informed us the best liver surgeon doctor in Malaysia would
retire on September 2016 or early October 2016. He emphasized few times that I
am very young to experience this and sounded like a surgery would help to get
rid of the cancer. He helped us to make it earlier for our appointment with
Hepatobiliary Department (department to do surgery for liver) – 11 August 2016.
At some points, we were thinking that we should just go for surgery but not the
chemotherapy for sure. When we are on the way home from hospital, my husband
and I discussed again.
My husband: “Doctor sounded like the
surgery would really get rid of the cancer.”
Me: “Yes, he sounded so. Not sure if
surgery would really work.”
My husband: “Let’s do more research
before we commit to any kind of method.”
Me: “Yes, alright! But, after all these
years, I read and watched so much information about the conventional cancer
cure and traditional cancer cure, I think actually both ways also 50-50 chance.
Lao gong, if we have decided to go either way, let’s not regret about it if
touch wood that I died. I believe, no one in this world would know which is the
best option to go as there is no ultimate cure yet. As long as we have done our
best to find as much info as we can before our decision, I think we should have
no regret for any outcome.”
My husband: “Yes. No reget.”
On the same day after hospital visit,
we drove all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Penang. On that evening and night, we
ate the Malay Kuey Teow soup that I like very much and some Hokkein Fried
Foods. From CA CARE website, we know that they are very particular in food
controlling. Both my husband and I know that these foods might be my last time
of eating them if we go for CA CARE therapy.
My husband: “Just eat it for now as you
might need to control on your food intake for the whole life after this, cannot
simply eat any food later.”
Me: “Yes. (Making joke) Oh… bye bye my
Malay Kuey Teow soup. Oh… bye bye my fried foods.”
The next day (9 August 2016), we
reached CA CARE at 1030am when they just opened their centre. The centre is like
a small bungalow but was crowded with some people at the time we reached. Some
of the people in there are Chinese and some of them are Indonesian (can hear
from their conversation). We saw a weak lady where she needs 2 persons to carry
her when walking. We were the last one to see Professor Dr. Chris Teo. While
waiting, we were able to talk to Mrs. Teo for quite some time. She was pretty
kind to share with us her knowledge about foods intake. When it’s our turn to
see Prof. Chris Teo, it’s already 1.30pm. We showed Prof. Chris Teo my CATs
scan report and told him my body condition – still feel pretty healthy, just
sometime feel a bit pain at the right top abdomen near the liver. Prof. Chris
Teo immediately recommended us not to go for surgery. He shared with us that
few of the liver cancer patients who came and see him after surgery had already
passed away after few months from the surgery. He also shared with us many
cancer patient cases who are still alive and who had already been dead. Listen
to his sharing, in my heart (I believe my husband too), it finally became so firm
that I will definitely go for natural foods and herbs to live with this cancer
in my body. Thus, after the end of our conversation, we straight away bought
the herbs from the professor and tried it out for our very first month!
On 11 August 2016, we went to Hospital
Selayang Hepatobiliary Department and informed the surgeon doctor that we
decided not to go for the surgery and will walk our way through with the
cancer.
This is how I / we made our decision on
our living with the cancer. I would not call it a battle as I believe battle
would hurt both side while peace would bring goods to both. J
May we live long with this peace.
